Three hours lecture per week. UC/CSU, CSU GE, IGETC Prerequisite: PSY 101 C with a grade of "C" or better . This courseis a systematic study of psychopathology. It is concerned with consciousness expressed through behavior that is considered to be counterproductive, maladaptive, and disruptive to the individual and/or society. The course will consider disturbances of volition, thinking, and feeling. Students in this case-driven course will be required to understand the current version of the DSM and apply the multiaxial assessment to videotaped cases of actual patients. The taped cases will illustrate a specific Axis I or Axis II disorder and provide information sufficient for the student to make a clear diagnosis.
