Prepares students for ENGL 1100 by presenting a study of basic grammar, including parts of speech, subject-verb agreement, pronoun-antecedent agreement, verb tense, sentence fragments, fused sentences, and comma splices. Writing will include the four basic sentence patterns and basic paragraph development. Prospective students will be required to score 60 or above on the COMPASS English exam to exempt this course.
