Prerequisite: HIST 2111 or HIST 2112. Surveys United States economic history from colonial times to the present. Emphasis will be placed on the dynamic growth and socio-political repercussions of American industrial power at home and abroad in the second half of the 19th century, and on the economic development and the socio-political repercussions of American economic relationships within the U.S. and the larger global community in the 20th and 21st centuries.
