This course includes materials from the Medical Module of the current National EMS Education Standard. Topics include units in aantomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system, basic arrhythmia interpretation, cardiovascular assessment, atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, risk factor identification and reduction, acute coronary syndrome, congestive heart failure, sudden arrhythmic death, hypertensive crisis and syncope. units on ACLS cardiovascular pharmacology I and II, artificial pacemakers, defibrillation, cardioversion, 12-lead EKGs, circulatory adjuncts, and ACLS algorithms are also included. Prerequisite: None. Corequisite: None. Offered: Spring.
