This course includes most of the material covered in the current National EMS Education Standard Medical Module as well as the Geriatrics, Patients with Special Challenges and Acute Interventions for Chronic Care from the Special Considerations Module. Other units covered are: anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, endocrine emergencies, environmental emergencies, infectious disease, acute GI and GU emergencies, anaphylaxis, toxicology, hematologic emergencies, and alcoholism. Prerequisite: None. Corequisite: None. Offered: Spring.
