This course includes and expands upon the material from the Preparatory Module of the Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic: National Standard curriculum (EMT-P NSC). It includes units on the paramedic profession, EMS systems, roles and responsibilities, ambulance operations, back injury prevention, asepsis, hand washing, phlebotomy, IV therapy, communications, documentation, crime scene awareness, medical incident command, hazardous materials incidents, rescue awareness and operations, and clinical decision making. Prerequisite: Admittance to EMS Program. Offered: Summer.
