Advisory: Computer Applications and Office Systems 150A or equivalent; Computer Applications and Office Systems 102L or equivalent; English Writing 200 and Reading 200 (or Language Arts 200), or English as a Second Language 261, 262 and 263. (Also listed as Computer Applications and Office Systems 161 and Computer Information Systems 161. Student may enroll in only one department for credit.) Three hours lecture, two hours lecture-laboratory. Pass-No Pass (P-NP) course. Introduction to computer crime investigation processes. Guides students to becoming computer forensics investigators who can acquire and analyze data from a computer to be used as evidence. Topics include computer forensics tools, data recovery and retrieval, information gathering techniques, computer data preservation techniques, and computer crime investigation techniques. System Administrators, IT Managers, and Law Enforcement Officers, would benefit from taking this course as well as individuals wanting to become Computer Forensics Consultants.
