Four hours lecture, six hours laboratory, one additional hour to be arranged in the Science Center Resource Center. Introduction to the sciences and the scientific method as exemplified by the study of microbiology. Morphology, metabolism, growth and genetics of bacteria and other microorganisms; chemical and physical means of control; the disease process and immunity. The importance of microorganisms to mankind; techniques and methods of microbiology. (CAN BIOL 14)
