(Formerly Computer Information Systems 53A.) Prerequisite: Computer Information Systems 35A. Advisory: English Writing 211 and Reading 211 (or Language Arts 211), or English as a Second Language 272 and 273. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory. Emphasis on foundation technologies in Java that enable you to write server side programs in Java. Concepts include Inner classes, Collections, Exceptions, File I/O, Reflections, Cloning, Swing, Multithreading and Java Beans.
