(Formerly English as a Second Language 126 and 126X.) Credit course - Does not apply to De Anza Associate degree. (English as a Second Language 226X is for repeaters only.) (Restricted to students whose native language is not English.) Prerequisite: English as a Second Language 263 or qualifying score on the English as a Second Language Placement Test. Corequisite: English as a Second Language 226 and 226X students must also enroll in English as a Second Language 273. One hour lecture-laboratory for each one-half unit of credit. Pass-No Pass (P-NP) course. Development of analytical writing skills using clear, expository English prose in well-developed paragraphs and short essays.
