Student may enroll in only one department, for credit.) Four hours lecture, one additional hour to be arranged. A survey of the image and role of the American film industry in the United States. Particular attention will be given to the development of images of racial stereotypes, those works attempting an historical portrayal of the African American experience and the roles played by key African Americans in the evolution of film as an art and North American feature films as an industry.
