Advisory: English Writing 1A or English as a Second Language 5. (Also listed as English Literature 5. Student may enroll in either department, but not both, for credit.) Four hours lecture. (Any combination of Film/Television 43 and English Literature 5 may be taken up to three times for credit as long as the topic matter is different each time.) Analysis of the works of specific film artists, such as directors, Alfred Hitchcock or Orson Welles; or analysis of the works of artists practicing a specific film craft, such as screenwriting, acting, cinematography or editing. The topic studied changes each quarter (see subtitle in quarterly class schedule).
