(Formerly Nursing 55C.) Prerequisite: Nursing 83, 83A, 83AL, 83L, 83P, and 83PL, all courses with a grade of C or better. Corequisite: Nursing 84C students must also enroll in Nursing 84 and 84L. Two hours lecture, one additional hour to be arranged in the Allied Health or Science Center Resource Center. Designed to assist the nurse in developing critical thinking skills to facilitate decision making and effective clinical judgment. The nursing process will be utilized as a mechanism in developing coherent and logical thinking through the use of scenarios, debates, group and written assignments.Critical thinking and problem solving skills will be employed through group exercises and independent study with consideration for the Registered Nurse's specific scope of practice.
