Advisory: English Writing 211 and Reading 211 (or Language Arts 211), or English as a Second Language 272 and 273; Mathematics 210 or equivalent. Six and one-third hours lecture, one-third hour laboratory. Eighty hours for the quarter. This course emphasizes the basic elements of supervision and how they may be applied to police work. Essentials of good leadership and understanding of the basic needs of human beings as well as ways to stimulate subordinates to better performance are the contents of the course. Designed for new sergeants emphasizing the basic elements of supervision, teacher training, conference leadership, and related law enforcement subjects as outlined by Peace Officer Standards and Training.
