(Formerly Urdu 92.) (See general education pages for the requirement this course meets.) Prerequisite: Urdu 1. Five hours lecture, one-hour laboratory. Further development of material presented in Urdu 1. Continuation of introduction to the language and cultures of the Urdu-speaking states. Basic speaking, listening, reading, and writing of Urdu will be continued and practiced within a cultural framework. Emphasis will be on language as an expression of culture. Language laboratory will be practiced to reinforce pronunciation, grammar, and syntax.
