READ 70 - Reading Across the Disciplines

Prerequisite: A qualifying score on the English and Reading Placement Test for English Writing 1A or satisfactory completion of English Writing 211 and Reading 211 (or Language Arts 211), or English as a Second Language 272 and 273. Corequisite: Students taking Reading 70 must also be enrolled in an appropriate course in the disciplines of Business, History, Humanities, Intercultural Studies, Psychology or Sociology. One hour lecture. (May be taken up to six times for credit as long as the corequisites are different each time.) Improve comprehension of reading materials in a specific content-area course through the application of reading strategies and critical analysis of reading materials specific to the course. Offered in coordination with specific sections of content area courses.
