Through discussion and observation, students will explore: the history of early childhood education and its influences on current classroom practices; various philosophical models; aspects of quality in early childhood programs; strategies for observation; the role of play in children's learning; planning of integrated curriculum; professional development of the early childhood teacher; and basic overview of the development of young children.
