This course is designed to give the student a comprehensive overview of the history of the theatre, from its beginnings through the Renaissance, including historical periods, playwrights, plays, social and political conditions and acting styles. This course will allow the student to do individual investigations into a variety of topics relevant to the various historical periods. Offered every other fall semester.
