Prerequisite: CRJ 101 with a minimum grade of "C" Introduces the substantive and procedural law of the criminal justice system from a constitutional perspective. The philosophical, political, and sociological dimensions of criminal law will be examined and discussed. Special emphasis will be placed on Georgia Criminal Code. Topics include: laws and procedures of arrest, search and seizure, trial regulations, administration of criminal sanctions; rules of evidence; general court procedures; rights and duties of officers and citizens; and Supreme and State Appellate Court rulings that apply to Criminal Justice and Constitutional Law.
