Prerequisites: AHS 1011, AHS 104, AHS 109, ENG 1010, MAT 1012, PSY 1010, SCT 100, SUR 101, SUR 102, SUR 108, SUR 109, SUR 110, SUR 112 with a minimum grade of "C" Corequisite: SUR 213 This course introduces students to surgical procedures, incisions, wound closure, operative pathology, and common complications as applied to general and specialty surgery. Topics include: introduction to surgical procedures, general surgery and special techniques, gynecological and obstetric surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, genitourinary surgery, head and neck surgery, and plastic and reconstructive surgery.
