Prerequisites: AHS 1011, AHS 104, AHS 109, ENG 1010, MAT 1012, PSY 1010, SCT 100, SUR 101, SUR 102, SUR 109 with a minimum grade of "C" Corequisites: SUR 108, SUR 110 This course orients students to the clinical environment and provides experience with basic skills necessary to the surgical technologist. Topics include: scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and draping, assistance with patient care, processing of instruments and supplies; creating and maintaining a sterile field; basic instrumentation; and environmental sanitation.
