This course focuses upon the utilization of the nursing process to promote adaptation of pathophysiologic aspects specific to adults and children experiencing accidental trauma, surgical interventions, burns, musculoskeletal trauma, gynecological, biliary and eye diseases. Complex cognitive and psychomotor skills, necessary for the practice of professional nursing, are included in the college laboratory. Students care for patients in a variety of settings. This course may not be repeated. Note: Students must register for both a lecture and a lab. 5 Lecture, 8 Lab, 8 Credit Hours. Prerequisite: C grade or better in BIO 131; C or better in NUR 105 and NUR 107; Concurrent enrollment in BIO 132. A minimal grade of C is required to continue to NUR 213 and NUR 215.
