Description:
This course focuses upon the utilization of the nursing process to promote adaptation to pathophysiologic aspects specific to adults and children experiencing complex respiratory, digestive, cardiovascular, abnormal tissue, urinary and hepatic disorders, and infectious processes. Complex cognitive and psychomotor skills, necessary for the practice of professional nursing, are included in the college laboratory. Students care for patients in a variety of settings. A minimal grade of C is required to progress to NUR 216. This course may not be repeated. Note: Students must register for both a lecture and a lab. 5 Lecture, 8 Lab, 8 Credit Hours. Prerequisites: C grade or better in BIO 132 and C or better in NUR 112; concurrent enrollment in BIO 212 and NUR 215.
