1 semester, 3 credits A course designed to introduce the basic techniques for a critical reading of fictive discourse. It traces the development of the short story in Spain and Spanish America. Special emphasis is placed upon the analysis of contemporary narrative forms and on the variety of reading responses invited by the various fictive styles. Prerequisites: SPN 321 and 322.
