Prerequisite: ENG 094. This lecture course examines visual art forms in painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture. Students learn the expressive and communicative language of form (i.e. line, shape, color) and its integral relationship to content within a work of art. In addition to investigating the elements of form and understanding content, materials and the techniques of the artists will be explored, and its significance to meaning as well. A survey of Art of the Western World unit will study art history combining material covered throughout the course and see its evolution and usage in the world of fine art. The course includes lecture, text, and visual materials.
