This course offers an introduction to the painting process through an investigation of theories; materials and techniques. Historical and contemporary aesthetic issues are explored through studio assignments, slide lectures, discussions, critiques and museum and gallery visits. (Prerequisite: ARTS 1010; Recommended: ARTS 1020) Studio: 4 hours Prerequisite: Successful completion of course required before registering. Corequisite: Course must be taken prior to or at the same time.
