An introduction to statistics for students interested in careers in psychology or related fields. Descriptive and inferential statistics are applied to psychological and social problems. Topics include probability theory, descriptive statistics, the binomial and normal distributions, confidence intervals, chi-square tests, t-tests, analysis of variance, correlation, and simple regression. A computer-based statistical package is used to analyze data. Prerequisites: PSY 110, and MTH 095 with a grade of C- or better, or adequate score on the Mathematics Placement Examination
