An integrated approach to the humanities which examines philosophy and the arts in terms of their relationships, rather than as separate activities.The emphasis throughout will be on the ways in which a shared cultural outlook gives meaning to human experience and is, in turn, expressed through works of art.This course considers the achievements of the Renaissance, the Modern Era, and the Post-Modern Era, treating them chronologically in order to provide a sense of change and development in succeeding epochs.There will be lectures, correlated readings and illustrations or representative works from each period studied. Meets A.A. general education Category V. A writing emphasis course.
