This course offers an introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required in emergency medical care situations. Theory and skills are taught in conjunction with the Department ofTransportation/ Emergency Medical Technician course guidelines. Emergency procedures for life-threatening problems are taught, practiced, and supervised in the simulated clinical laboratory setting. Comprehensive written and skills examinations must be successfully completed at the end of the course. Lab fee and proof of professional liability insurance required. 60 class hours and 112 lab hours. Prerequisite: HSC 2531 (with a grade of "C" or higher) Corequisite: EMS 1431.
