A non-laboratory course designed for nonscience majors. This course introduces the basic concepts of chemistry and how they affect our lives. Topics covered include drugs, food additives, personal care and cosmetics, water, air, plastics and other current real-world topics. This course is not a prerequisite for limited access health programs and is not recommended for science majors. 45 class hours. Prerequisite(s): MAT 0024 and REA 0002 (completed with a grade of "C" or higher) or appropriate placementtest score.
