An introduction to fundamental concepts in chemistry. Topics include measurement, matter and energy, atomic structure, nomenclature, chemical equations and calculations, periodicity, chemical bonding, gases, solutions, acids/bases and an introduction to organic chemistry.This course is intended for students with no high school chemistry background or those who need a refresher course prior to entering CHM2045. 45 class hours. Prerequisites: REA 0002 and MAT 1033 (completed with grades of "C" orhigher) or appropriate placement test scores. Corequisite: CHM1025L.
