Prerequisite: Eligibility for Math 131 or higher. Basic principles of physics and chemistry and their applications to modern daily life with a primarily conceptual approach. Emphasis on critical thinking skills and general methods of scientific inquiry. Recommended for students in the California State Teacher's Preparation Program and other appropriate nonsciences majors but open to all qualified students. Total of 54 hours lecture.
