This course provides an opportunity for the student to consolidate theory and skills developed in previous levels and to implement new theory and skills learned in the psychiatric client needs courses in settings not limited to acute care. The student functions in the roles of provider of care and manager of care, in collaboration with members of the health care team within the context of community based settings. The student functions interdependently in the role of member within the discipline of nursing to maintain standards, to develop relationships, and to assume accountability. The student applies the nursing process to perform assessments, select nursing diagnoses, and develop a plan for care. Prerequisite: NUR 240 Co-requisite: Completed and current health form on file. Current CPR certification, Malpractice insurance, NUR 260.
