This course provides an opportunity for the student to consolidate theory and skills developed in previous levels and to implement new Level 4 theory and skills. The student functions in the role of provider of care, in collaboration with members of the health care team, to provide care for hospitalized clients with complex needs. The client is viewed as part of a broader community. The student functions interdependently in the role of manager of care to establish priorities for a group of clients, to delegate and assist others with aspects of nursing care, and to provide for continuity of care, discharge planning and referrals. The student functions interdependently in the role of member within the discipline of nursing to maintain standards, to develop relationships, and to assume accountability for self and others. The student applies the nursing process considering previous illness, to develop and implement a plan of care for a group of clients. Prerequisite: NUR 240 Co-requisite: Completed and current health form on file. Current CPR certification, Malpractice insurance, NUR 260.
