This course is designed to introduce the student to the functions of the Scrub Nurse as part of the health care team; it includes the study of preparation of supplies, the roles of the circulator, medicolegal responsibilities including various counting procedures, operating room policies, the myriad sutures and needles employed, and the mechanisms involved with the operating tables and all other surgical equipment. Prerequisite: NUR 281 or Permission of Instructor.
