( 3) Students in the health information technology program are required to complete a clinical practicum at the technical level. The main purpose of this practicum is to integrate the didactic (lecture) component with the clinical (practice) components. Students will utilize the knowledge they have gained from the classroom lectures and laboratory experiences in the clinical setting. Each student will spend 15 days (120 hrs.) in a health care facility. The student is responsible for the arrangement and costs of transportation to and from the clinical site. Prerequisite: HIT 101, HIT 102, HIT 110, HIT 223.
