Description:
This laboratory companion course for PTA220 provides the student with instruction in physical therapy management of patients with cardiac, vascular, integumentary, pulmonary, and endocrine diagnoses commonly seen in physical therapy clinical practice. The course includes simulated practice of treatment of cardiac and pulmonary patients, burn injuries and other wounds. Additionally, clinical concerns and interventions when working with patients with diabetes, therapeutic exercise protocols, residual limb care, prosthetic application, and functional training for patients with amputation will be addressed. This is a five week modular course which begins the eleventh week of the semester. (Usually offered Fall semester. Restricted to PTA students.)
