4 cr. Prerequisites: RSP*H112, RSP*H121 with grades of "C" or better . Thiscourse introduces the student to basic principles of clinical respiratory care. Topics include but are not limited to: medical gas therapy, patient assessment, OSHA and infection control standards, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy, hyperinflation therapy, ethics and professionalism, medical documentation. An integrated laboratory experience is included.
