(formerly MI-H1011) 3 cr. Prerequisite: BOT*H283. Corequisite: BOT*H282. This course is an indepth study of basic ICD-9-CM coding. Diagnoses, procedures, signs and symptoms will be studied and coded by students using the necessary textbooks. The flow of medical records from doctor's office to hospital discharge will be tracked for insurance, risk managment, and case study purposes.
