Prerequisites: TNY 181 and CRT 202. Co-requisites: TNY 273. An introduction to the techniques, principles, and terminology of Data Communications will be presented. Public and private networks will be examined. Data communication equipment, multiplexing, and interactive learning, demonstrations will be employed. Laboratory exercises will be required. This course makes extensive use of computer simulations and communications both in and out of the classroom; use of a laptop computer is required. Laboratory fee applies.
