Prerequisites: BIO 101 and BIO 102 or BIO 109-110 or permission of the Department. This course investigates the lives of animal parasites of medical, veterinary and economic importance. The habitats, life cycles, geographic distribution and underlying principles of transmission, diagnosis, treatment and prevention are considered. Through the use of prepared microscope slides and living materials, the student is given the opportunity to view and study a wide variety of parasitic organisms.
