Prerequisites: One semester of college biology or permission of the Department. The anatomy, physiology, and behavior of birds are studied in the context of their environments. Classification and evolution of birds are discussed. Laboratory exercises involve dissection, field trips, and individual investigative projects involving data collection and analysis. Field trips include representative Long Island habitats: marine, fresh water, woods, and fields. (3 lecture, 3 laboratory hours) Laboratory fee applies. SUNY GEN ED-GLAB; NCC GEN ED-LSCI
