Prerequisites: BIO 101 and BIO 102 or BIO 109 and BIO 110 or permission of the Department. This course examines the morphology, physiology, structure, genetics, and metabolism of microorganisms, including the roles played by microorganisms in medical, environmental, agricultural, and biotechnological sciences. The laboratory deals with the culture and study of microorganisms, the dynamics of microbial growth, and the physiological basis of bacterial identification.
