Prerequisites: AHS 131-132 recommended. The student is given a medical view of microorganisms: their morphology and physiology. Pathogenic microorganisms, including etiology and pathology, are examined in detail as applicable to the hospital environment. The study of aseptic and antiseptic techniques involving patients, equipment and clinical areas enumerated. Practicum in obtaining pure cultures and identifying these cultures included.
