Prerequisite: satisfactory completion of College Preparatory English (ENC 0020) and College Preparatory Reading (REA 0002) or appropriate placement scores. Examines the origins and development of security from medieval England to current times. The concept of security is discussed as a response to and a reflection of society's structure and economic emulations, society's perception of law and crime, and society's morality. Introduces contemporary security issues such as security equipment and procedures, current relevant legislation and loss prevention theory. Contact: 3 hours.
