Prerequisites: EMS1155 and EMS1155L or certification as a Registered Emergency Medical Technician. This course is designed to teach the EMT or paramedic the skills and knowledge necessary to perform rescue operations utilizing hand and power tools, ropes, and other rescue equipment. Emphasis will be placed on the evolution of motor vehicle rescue and vertical extraction situations with regard to the safety of both rescuer and patient. Lab hours. Contact: 66 hours.
