This course examines psychological disorders from a variety of perspectives. In addition to the usual survey of psychological disorders across diagnostic categories, it also considers the possible causes of psychological problems and a wide variety of therapeutic techniques used to treat them. The history and scientific underpinning of psychological diagnosis and treatment is also covered. Prerequisite: SOCS 105 or equivalent, or permission of instructor 3 credits (3 lecture hours), fall or spring semester These credits count towards the Social Sciences (list C) requirements for graduation.
