Overview of financial markets and financial instruments. Explanation of basic finance concepts including interest rates, time value of money, valuation, cost of capital, risk and rates of return. Role of finance in decision-making regarding managing daily operations, seeking financing, and providing financing. Incorporates spreadsheet modeling to apply financial concepts and conduct financial analysis. Prerequisites: ACCT 100 or ACCT 101, CITA 100 or CITA 110, and MATH 102, or permission of instructor 3 credits (3 lecture hours), fall semester
