This course uses the data and knowledge from ET265 Fiber Optics 1 to design Local Area Networks (LANS) and Metropolitan Area Networks (MANS). It covers plastic and glass fiber cables, radio frequency (RF) cables, and standard electrical wire cables. It includes design and layout applications of computer networks, cable interfaces, and Novell computer networking. Prerequisite: ET265 Fiber Optics 1. Corequisite: ET266 Fiber Optics 2.
