An introduction to the fundamental techniques, concepts, and principles of layout and design and how they relate to publications. Through a series of projects, students will explore the many content areas of journalism, including theme development, layout and design, photography, graphics, and copy writing. Students will be encouraged to apply these fundamentals in their school's various publications, such as the yearbook, newspaper, newsletter, or literary magazine. Credit, 3 hours.
